The fitted lid of tiara form with open pierced ball finial. The body overall decorated in multi-color cloisonne enamel of scrolling foliage and flower forms. The underside of base exquisitely finished with a plique-a-jour enamel scene of an eagle fighting a serpent. Hallmarked Moscow, circa 1890, Cyrillic maker's mark P.Ovchinnikov beneath the imperial warrant and with 88 standards. Height 8.25 inches (21 cm).
