If you are a lover of TV or cinema, the holidays offer the perfect opportunity to hibernate at home and watch hours of movies or shows back-to-back—especially in those geographic locations where it gets cold enough to snow. Brrr! During this time of year, there’s almost nothing better than having a day off, staying in your pajamas and snuggling up with a warm blanket to watch something compelling or something mindless or both. A good movie or show and some delicious holiday leftovers can make the world seem a just a little better and a tad bit more bright. Many of us spend money each month to have access to streaming platforms that show movies and shows. And there’s an enormous range to choose from. But it can also be cost prohibitive. And sometimes, even when you can afford it, there’s nothing more frustrating and disappointing when you realize that Hulu or Netflix don’t actually have the movie or show you want to watch or that you have to pay extra on top of your monthly fee in order to access it. Well, luckily, there’s a new alternative out there. Recently, YouTube announced that it would start streaming movies for free. The platform had previously offered users the chance to purchase movies and TV shows through its app and site but now, through this new model, there’s absolutely no purchase required. They do require you to sit through a handful of commercials—but, hey, that gives you time to go to the bathroom or grab another plateful of food! Additionally, YouTube has long had challenges with user uploaded videos, which can vary in quality and get into legal issues and, subsequently, can be removed from the site. This way you can be assured of the quality of the video and, again, the best part is that it’s free! A list of the free movies includes: Pink Panther The Terminator (original) Legally Blonde Zookeeper The Birds The Good, Bad and the Ugly A Christmas Carol A plethora of Lifetime and Hallmark Channel holiday movies And it’s worth it for this series alone—all of the first four Rocky films!
