The following stories are examples of this week's Election Roundup of 34 down ticket stories covering Saturday 9/16 through Saturday 9/22. (FL-SEN) 'Red-Tide Rick' Scott being booed out of a Gulf Coast restaurant may be the best thing you see today Florida Governor Rick Scott is running scared, as the natives become more and more restless over his disastrous environmental policies that are ravaging our beautiful and fragile watery environments. In Venice, Florida, Scott, who is in a closely contested Senate race against Democratic Senator Bill Nelson, was booed out of the Mojo’s Real Cuban restaurant in the ruby-red county of Sarasota—only to face an even larger, angrier crowd when the coward fled out the back door. (CA-22) The DCCC is inexplicably letting Devin Nunes get re-elected, abandoning an amazing Dem candidate Normally, CA-22 is very red. But this year, the political climate has changed across the country, and thanks to Nunes’ absolutely pathetic shilling for Trump and Putin, as well as his deep disconnect with his Central California district, he’s put himself in a real danger zone. Nipping at his heels is the aggressive, progressive prosecutor Andrew Janz, an energetic candidate who has been raising big money online and canvassing the central California district since this time last year. He’s pulled to within five points of Nunes in polls, and with some help, could depose the dopey Republican — but the DCCC, he says, is reneging on its promise to provide him with that help. (ND-Initiative) Recreational Marijuana? In North Dakota? I'll Bring the Doritos! Recreational marijuana could be legalized. In North Dakota. How did this happen? North Dakota is an Initiative state. Measure 3, as it is officially known, was placed on the ballot courtesy of over 14,000 valid signatures on a petition. When you are an Initiative state, this can happen. And it did. The success of the petition was quite a surprise to the typically staid and sturdy folk of the northerly of the two Dakotas. Visions of half-naked, unkempt Woodstock holdovers dancing in the amber waives of grain likely abounded in the heads of those who woke up one morning to find Measure 3 on the ballot. Indeed, the battle lines were drawn quickly.
