Exceptional, Rare, George Iii Time Music Pendulum. Signature Of Thomas Best, Attributed To James Cox, London, Third Quarter Of The Eighteenth Century. In chiseled and gilded bronze, plates of agate and rhinestones, decorated with foliage, flowers, staples, piastres and masks, the white enameled dial carried upon a bull surrounded by two Chinese characters, resting on a box centered with a rosette supported by four dragons enclosing a sphere, placed on a box containing a musical mechanism supported by four elephants, the Movement signed, The Best / London / 137 «and numbered P 20 1. Estimate: $20,000 - $30,000- 18/19th C Qing Dynasty Jiaqing Calligraphy Couplet. 18th/19th C. Chinese Qing Dynasty Jiaqing Emperor (13 November 1760 - 2 September 1820). Calligraphy couplet, ink on paper laid to silk, hanging scrolls. Each with eight semi-cursive script characters on dragon and phoenix motif pale-brown paper, one with two seal marks. Laid on silk. Her artwork is very realistic and many modern western painting techniques were used in conjunction with traditional Chinese artistic methods.
