Dulwich Picture Gallery and the London Festival of Architecture have shortlisted six architectural firms from 150 entries to develop proposals for the second “Dulwich Pavilion” — a temporary, outdoor visitor welcome and public events space within the historic grounds of Dulwich Picture Gallery.Dulwich Picture Gallery has invited the architectural firms to develop designs in response to a site-specific brief. An exhibition of the models will be on display at Dulwich Picture Gallery during the London Festival of Architecture from June through July 2019. Public will have the chance to vote for their favourite design during June. The winning proposal, based on public vote combined with a panel vote will be revealed in July ahead of construction — subject to planning consent — at Dulwich Picture Gallery in time for the London Festival of Architecture in June 2019. The primary objective of the 2019 structure will be to offer visitors a refreshing welcome and orientation space to set the tone for their visit to the Gallery. The six shortlisted schemes for 2019 include Casswell Bank Architects, e10 Studio, Flea Folly Architects, Projects Office, PUP Architects, and Pricegore.Founded in 2015 by Alex Bank and Sam Casswell, Casswell Bank Architects emphasizes identifying and understanding architectural character demonstrated in a portfolio of projects for different uses. e10 Studio is a London-based design studio formed around a network of collaborators, including researchers, designers, and makers. We’re living in such chaotic, confusing times; what’s astonishing is the confidence and optimism this generation is showing in making sense and giving form to the future.”http://www.blouinartinfo.com/ Founder: Louise Blouin Read more
