No, Omarosa's tapes are not 'just like' a concerted foreign attack on the United States

Politico reports that the residents of the Trump White House are quivering in fear. Fear that another tape recorded by Omarosa Manigault Newman will be released, and they will be displayed in an unpleasant light. Such as making them look like they associate with a tax-dodging, pussy-grabbing, racist, sexist, serial liar who genuinely thinks an orange spray tan looks cool. But Politico also has a go-to reference for what this situation is just exactly like. Omarosa Manigault Newman’s slow release of secretly taped conversations from inside the Trump campaign and White House is having the same effect on staffers as the daily dumps from WikiLeaks had on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign … The result is the same type of psychological warfare that gripped the Clinton campaign two years ago … Like the WikiLeaks dump — which severely damaged the Clinton campaign by taking it off message … Yes, one woman who pressed the voice recorder app on her phone is exactly like a concerted effort by the Russian government using hundreds of technical assets to break in and steal documents from multiple sources and distribute those documents through a pipeline that not only took the information straight to the front page of every paper, but right to the podium of Trump’s rallies where he daily read aloud from the latest releases. An effort that was backed up by the coordinated use of everything from pop-up news sites, millions of ‘bots churning social media, and AstroTurf rallies. Except no. A outright attack by a foreign government investing millions and being amplified by not just the media but the coordination of the Trump campaign is not like one angry black woman. And actually, Politico agrees. Because they go to great lengths to explain how the Omarosa crisis is much, much worse. “Nobody had to be worried that there was an email where Hillary used the N-word,” she said. “And John doesn’t say crazy stuff.”

Daily Kos announces release of nominee funds to Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington Democrats

On Tuesday night, Daily Kos announced the latest disbursement of Democratic Nominee Funds raised through ActBlue after recent primary elections in Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington. The Democratic nominees in Kansas’s 3rd Congressional District, Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, Minnesota’s 2nd and 3rd Congressional Districts, and Washington’s 8th Congressional District will receive their share of over $300,000 from more than 150,000 individual, small-dollar grassroots donations the Daily Kos community has given to eject Republicans from these House seats. “The Daily Kos community has raised over $2.1 million to oust Republicans from 40 U.S. House seats and three U.S. Senate seats since first launching our effort around ActBlue’s nominee funds last year,” said Daily Kos Political Director David Nir. “Daily Kos identified an opportunity early in the cycle to leverage the strength of small-dollar grassroots fundraising to evict Republicans from seats Democrats have a strong opportunity to flip this November. We’re thrilled to see these funds from this effort get deployed to support Democratic efforts in these key states.” Daily Kos has led the way in supporting Democrats across the country this cycle, raising over $5.8 million for candidates in small, grassroots donations in 2017-2018. We will continue to analyze and invest in key races nationwide.

Democrats are set to make a lot of history this November

Tuesday’s primaries once again showcased a Democratic Party that’s starting to look like America. No one can say the party is leaving white men behind, with the Democratic nominees for governor in Minnesota and Wisconsin falling into that demographic. But at the same time, Democrats made or are poised to make a set of firsts. Connecticut has never elected a black Democratic member of Congress—which is likely to change with the nomination of teacher Jahana Hayes to replace retiring Rep. Elizabeth Esty. Last week, Rashida Tlaib won her primary in Michigan and became a favorite to be the first Muslim woman ever in Congress … but this week, she got company when Ilhan Omar won her primary to succeed Rep. Keith Ellison. Omar would also become the first Somali-American in Congress. Ellison, for his part, won the nomination for Minnesota attorney general despite late-breaking abuse allegations. If he wins, he would be the first Muslim elected statewide. Vermont Democrats nominated Christine Hallquist, the first out transgender major party nominee for governor in any state. Incumbent Republican Gov. Phil Scott is heavily favored to win the race, though. For their part, Republicans in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District nominated a two-time loser with a history of grossly sexist and homophobic blog posts. But hey, he’s a white man, so.

Photographer Christy Lee Rogers produces luminous scenes of swirling figures swathed in colorful fabrics. She creates a painterly quality in her large-scale images not by using wet pigments, but rather by completely submerging her subjects in illuminated water and photographing them at night. The works shown here are part of Rogers’ most recent series, titled ‘Muses’, which were in response to a year of personal loss. She shared in an interview that “these final images represent a soft and peaceful place that I imagine exists, where you can be free to let go and experience the beauty surrounding you.” Rogers grew up in Hawaii and continues to shoot there, though she now lives in Nashville. Tickets to see LeBron James’ return to Cleveland will cost Cavs fans plenty

LeBron James will make his first return visit to Cleveland as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 21. for a showdown with the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena. Cavs fans undoubtedly have circled that date on their calendars. However, if they want to actually be in The Q to see the spectacle firsthand? Well, it’s going to cost them. According to a report from Cleveland.com’s Joey Morona, available tickets for King James’ are scant on the primary market. In fact, only one ticket remained for the Lakers’ visit as of Wednesday morning on the Cavaliers’ official site (tickets went on sale for the 2018-19 season on Tuesday). And that ducat is (or was) running for $149. Parties of two or more will have to pay $189 to watch LeBron, Lonzo, Rondo & Co. from the corners of the upper deck, though seats at that price point are getting scarce. You may have better luck on the secondary market where tickets start at $160 on Stubhub and $134 on Vivid Seats. By comparison, a similar seat for the game against the Atl
