Cloud shapes and colorful sea apples form the inspiration for the Bomboca Sofa, the latest addition to Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection, being presented at Design Miami 2017.In Brazil, one word that definitely brings a smile on children’s faces is "bomboca," referring to chocolate-coated sweets served at weddings and parties — also the origin for the name of the new limited edition modular sofa designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana.Featuring textured fabrics and velvet in different shades of blue and turquoise, the Bomboca Sofa is made of eight removable cushions arranged in a leather-covered shell; the same leather that is used by Louis Vuitton for its bags. Some of the other pieces from Objets Nomades making their debut at Design Miami include Atelier Oï’s "Swing Boat," "the Belt Chair" and "the Spiral Lamp" along with Patricia Urquiola’s "Palaver Chair," India Mahdavi’s "Talisman Table," and Marcel Wanders’ rocking "Lune Chair," and leather "Diamond Screen."Objets Nomades is Louis Vuitton’s ever-expanding collection of collectible furniture offering inventive and inspiring designs anchored in the House’s historic art of travel. Founded in 1854, the Louis Vuitton brand continues to carry the spirit of its founder, Louis Vuitton, who created a genuine “Art for Travel” through an elegant range of bags, luggage, and accessories.Design Miami runs from December 6 through December 10, 2017.For more details, visit: www.louisvuitton.com/Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the collection.
